BelSentiero is a beautiful renovated stone farm house villa in the Val d'Orcia World Heritage area near Pienza, Tuscany, half way between Rome and Florence.
The villa includes 5 en-suite guest-rooms to sleep 10. There is air-conditioning throughout, an open plan dining and lounge area and large kitchen. Outside is the stunning terrace/ veranda over-looking the infinity pool, hot-tub and valley.
BelSentiero is in the heart of the most beautiful part of Tuscany where scenes from Gladiator and the English Patient were filmed. An area of rolling hills that are green in Spring and turn a golden brown in summer as the wheat ripens. An area dominated by Monte Amiata and encompassing the famous wine regions of the Brunello and Montepulciano. Dotted throughout with historic towns and villages as if from the middle ages.
The property contains all the traditional features you would expect in Tuscany such as stone walls, terracotta roofs and floors with oak beams and wooden shutters, but without compromising luxury. There is air-conditioning throughout, wifi, large screen TVs and luxurious extra length king size beds with quality linen in all the rooms. This is in addition to the writing desks with mini-bar fridges and mood lighting in all the bedrooms.
BelSentiero is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Green lawns, cypress trees, geraniums in terracotta vases, and rosemary surround the villa. This is the quintessential Tuscany of the movies and paintings. Sometimes in the mornings you will even see wild deer in the meadow or grazing at the dam.
The price include a sumptuous breakfast served every morning either out on the veranda with its views or in the dining room. Catered meals for lunch, dinner or a barbecue can also be arranged as an additional option with a dedicated cook for your stay.

Summary: We (a group of eight friends) shared the most amazing week at BelSentiero. This fabulous villa offers absolutely stunning views of the Val d’Orcia. The bedrooms are bright and airy with luxurious linens, and the ensuite bathrooms are spacious and modern. The infinity pool is spectacular and comes with expansive outdoor seating and comfortable gathering areas. The kitchen was ideally equipped, including a professional espresso machine. The breakfasts were filling and varied, and the fabulous Renzo prepared two evening meals for us—one a traditional meal of local foods, and the other a barbeque with tasty side dishes. Jan, our gracious host, was available every morning to help inform our plans, recommend restaurants, and provide a wealth of suggestions and information. Our friends group enjoy biking around through the five villages, wine-tasting at a local winery to which we walked, wandering the nearby village and climbing the medieval bell tower, cooking leisurely meals together and enjoying day trips to Mont Amiata, Pienza, Montalcino, Siena and more. Thanks, Jan, for helping us create a week of memories we will long remember!
