Stay Minutes from ~UVA~, Yet Feel Like You're in the Country—On 5 Ac. w/ Pond | House in Charlottesville

4 Bedroom House in Flordon, Charlottesville
One guest review says Poplar’s Edge has “all the comforts of home,” and we’re glad to hear it—that’s exactly the feeling we hoped to create, right down to the luxury linens, antique furnishings, and warm, sun-washed rooms. Coming to Poplar’s Edge is like visiting a favorite relative who puts your comfort and happiness first!
Given its central location and impressive acreage, Poplar’s Edge is a great spot year-round—for UVA Grounds visits, Rotunda tours, graduation ceremonies, football games, or for a weekend jaunt into Virginia’s flourishing “Wine Belt,” of which Charlottesville is the capital. Our secluded home is tucked away on five landscaped acres, yet it’s only four miles from the UVA campus and 5.6 miles from downtown Charlottesville.
In the summertime, enjoy lazy afternoons canoeing and fishing on the 5-acre pond adjacent to our property. Or simply savor the view of the water while sipping local wine on the deck in one of our comfortable chairs. Glance around, and you’ll barely see the neighbors. That’s because Poplar’s Edge borders 40 acres of conservation land—home to birds, deer, fox and other native wildlife, which you’re likely to spot during your stay.
In the fall and winter, when the trees are bare, Poplar’s Edge is rewarded with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In fact, football season is one of the best times to visit. As the temperature drops, the property’s namesake poplars burst into yellow flames, and it’s cool enough to gather with family and friends around the Tulikivi, a ceramic, wood-burning fireplace on the back deck.
Our kitchen has an open, airy feel, thanks to a huge bay window and raised panel cabinetry. Order take-out from one of many Charlottesville restaurants and gather around our huge dining table with seating for up to eight. In winter, the wood-burning fireplace near the dining table will warm your chilly toes in no time.
In the great room, nine-foot sliding glass doors frame tranquil views of the pond, plus give access to the back deck. Vaulted ceilings make the space feel even more spacious than it is, as does the open-concept floor plan—the kitchen, dining room, great room and deck all flow into one another.
The master bedroom features a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with two granite-counter vanities. In the winter, this bedroom enjoys views of the Blue Ridge.
Two first-floor bedrooms have queen-sized beds, a flood of natural light, and a shared bathroom with a tumbled marble floors and European glass shower enclosure.
One final bedroom with two twins—plus an optional rollaway bed—is perfect for the kids.
With its great location near UVA and Charlottesville, and stunning natural beauty across all seasons, we know you’ll love Poplar’s Edge as much as we do! Call today and book your stay with us.
