Positive: I am too sorry to say that this Raffles disappointed us..:/ We are big fans of Raffles hotels and the one in Seychelles has very big potential but it’s not there yet - although the price you pay is way too high (comparable with other 5-star structures in Seychelles). The only thing that we loved about- and I highlight, really loved - is the villa. That is perfect. Intimate, amazing view, clean, full of light, thoughtful amenities. Couldn’t ask for a better villa during our honeymoon. We had this sea-view structure, where you could enjoy the sunrise as well as the whole day in our private pool. Also the buggy service I should say was very good and responsive. Ofc there were some waiting times but nothing out of normal.
Negative: The hotel is undergoing an important transformation and redesign of several areas - which led to improvised ones during our stay. And that is okay - it can happen. But - in such cases - as they are still charging for a 5-star property, would have been fair to create also 5-star improvised areas with a veeery high level and quality of the service provided. This way, you can compensate what you’re “tearing off” your customers… This was not the case. Seems also that big part of the staff is has little to zero previous experience. The food is a big concern - poor breakfast menu as well as dinner one. Limited communication between staff leading to confusion (basically we were never able to have a massage because everyday everything was booked..:o)!! I would have other examples to share, but dont wanna be too long… Also the beach near the hotel is not usually so clean and/or good for swimming but however anse lazio is pretty near . Fortunately there were private pools, as the main one was not available… The staff tried to give 110% of effort in most cases, but when the property has so many limitations and their experience too - the results are not there
Summary: Hopefully we’ll get back soon and have a real 5-star experience. Not there yet
