This designer/artist’s home has been beautifully restored with all the modern amenities, while retaining its historical nuanced character of when it was built in 1790. Modern art and sculpture juxtapose the classic farmhouse architecture. This 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom + additional Glamping Shed, have Helix hybrid mattresses in each bedroom with luxury bedding from Ralph Lauren and Brooklinen complimenting each bed.
A Gunite lagoon pool with stone grotto and stone terrace is surrounded by beautifully established, perennial gardens and blooming trees making for a very private and whimsical setting. Leagrave Restoration Hardware furnishings for lounging by the pool or entertaining in the garden, compliment the lavish florals of lavender, peonies, poppies and lilies. Views of a picturesque country field of wheat is just behind the pool and visible from all the East facing rooms. The pool is not heated but gets plenty of sun which helps keep the pool warm.
This chefs kitchen is well outfitted with everything needed for all preparations of food and drinks including a KitchenAid artisan stand mixer, water carbonator by Aarke, demitasse coffee with a Bialette as well as Moccamaster, cookware by Staub, Allclad, LeCreuset and more. Our kitchen also boasts no plastic, with all stainless and glass containers and utensils.
We have four bedrooms in the main house with 1 King, 2 Queens and 1 Double. We have a Glamping Shed attached to the main house with a King bed and Steinway upright piano.
In the Summer months, the main house is cooled with central AC and an additional window unit upstairs and in the Glamping Shed. In the Winter months, the entire main home is kept cozy and warm with Central Heating and if it’s not too cold the Glamping Shed can be kept warm with an oil heater.
Although appreciated and loved by us, the charm and age of this house makes for a steep and narrow staircase to the second floor, perhaps worthy of taking into account for elders and small children. There is a retractable mesh gate at the bottom of the stairs for extra safety.
