About this space
A beautiful, contemporary lodge nestled in a gorgeous country park a short drive from Dumfries in the stunning region of Dumfries & Galloway.
Deceptively spacious, the lodge sleeps 8 easily with it's large rooms and fantastic outdoor entertaining area.
A great bolt-hole for a relaxing get away or brilliant base to explore everything this amazing area has to offer.
Beautifully decorated throughout and upgraded with all mod cons, the lodge is a real gem you'll want to visit time and again!
The space
Located in Mouswald on the outskirts of Dumfries, the lodge is located within a charming and peaceful country park which is part of the Mouswald Place Mansion House.
The lands of Mouswald were gifted to the Carruthers family by Robert the Bruce and the mansion house was the Carruthers family home the 14th century ruins of which feature in the grounds.
Enter the lodge and you will be greeted with a spacious and beautifully decorated open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area. The fully equipped kitchen makes preparing a light lunch or full family evening meal a breeze and the good size dining table is a great gathering point for friends and family.
Relax in front of the TV and feature fireplace in the evening or enjoy a family games night, there's enough room for everyone!
The master bedroom has a super comfortable king size bed, plenty of storage and TV with streaming services. With it's own en-suite shower room with good size shower enclosure, it's the perfect relaxing space to ensure a great night sleep.
For guests 7 & 8, there is a comfortable metal framed full double sofa bed in the sitting room which is super easy to pull in and out.
The main bathroom has both a shower and full bath, perfect for a relaxing soak after a busy day hiking or cycling.
Head outside and you will find decking that wraps around the lodge, at the back this opens out to a fantastic outdoor seating area with plenty of room for 8 and is the perfect spot for morning coffee or a relaxing glass of wine in the evening after a busy day exploring all our region has to offer.
Dumfries & Galloway as a region could not be more diverse, from water sports to fishing, shooting to horse riding there really is something for everyone young or old.
Historically rich the county has many castles & ruins, is the birthplace of Peter Pan, the US Navy and the resting place of Robert Burns, we even have our own dark skies forest! The Solway Coast or 'Scottish Riviera' sports miles of beaches some of which have beautiful golden sands along with many charming harbour villages.
