Positive: We came here for chritsmas, I can't begin to say how cozy the house, the area and the village were. We have a big dog and we were able to walk 16 seconds to an excellent pub or 3 minutes to some amazing walks and hike. You're just removed enough to feel completely cozy but also close to all of the places we wanted to see in the lake district by car. The kitchen is one of the best equipped kitchen we've seen in an rental home (the view on the field to watch the sun go up and down is just an incredible bonus). We were able to cook varied meals every night. The house is clean, beautiful and full of charm and so comfortable. Can't recommend it enough for a cozy stay.
Negative: We had hoped for a fire burning fireplace, but having seen the work of art that they have, understand why we can't use it. The heated floors make the house really cozy without it.
