Monkey Beach House is a 3 storey, 5 bedroom beach house within the Tamani property at Galu Beach.
Those in-the-know have been coming here for years and most of the guests who stay at Tamani come back time and time again. Great for families, for group gatherings or a honeymoon.
Come and be spoiled by our cooks - eat fabulously-fresh seafood, plucked from the sea each day; try the local Swahili dishes, inspired by the ancient sea-trade from India, Arabia with spices from Zanzibar and fresh coconut from our own trees.
You can sit at the dining table on the 1st floor balcony and watch the dhows sail by. Parents can relax and enjoy the sights while keeping an eye on their kids in the children's pool just 30 metres in front of the house.
5 big bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning in the master & 2nd master bedrooms. Ceiling fans and lots of windows in all the bedrooms give great ventilation from the sea breeze.
2 kitchen areas, 2 dining areas, 2 living areas - all with superb views of the beach and gardens and swimming pool.

Summary: I rented two properties on Tamani compound adjacent to each other for a 'round' birthday celebration. The location on Galu Beach (an old favourite) is amazing, with stunning views across the pool to the palm-lined white sand and azure sea. The house staff, especially Abdallah the cook, played an important role in making us feel at home and well taken care of. The first floor open verada with the large dining table was a beautiful venue for our meals. While the house is nicely decorated, it's a bit dark, with the exception of the main beach-facing bedroom. This isn't helped by cream-coloured walls, giving the place a bit of a tired feel (the exterior of the house could also do with a paint job). Overall, especially compared with the adjacent (above-mentioned) house, I was not convinced by the value offered for the price paid. In renting the house, also bear in mind that it's on a compound with quite a few other houses, the tenants of which occupy the shared pool and beach front area during the day and evening. As such, it has more of a hotel feel to it than I expected from the pictures.
