Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: To begin - I arrived at the airport on a red eye and was worried I would have to wait until 3pm for check-in.. but after calling the desk they did an early clean for the room I was assigned and got in for noon! All staff I encountered were upbeat and superb service oriented. The bathroom has the clean smooth Bath fitters style tub and shower. Minimalist but functional sink stand. New LG TV, modern fridge and microwave. Modern thermostat. The breakfast was in a nice clean seating area with a wonderful selection of dry cereals, waffle maker, fruit, juices, coffee and tea, muffins -, one day it was bagels and next were English muffins... hot breakfast with eggs and cubed home fries.. Coffee available all day. Checkout receipt slipped under the door at 5 a.m. in case I wanted to exit early without troubling to go through the bureaucracy. The best Affordable property I could ever asked for in Orillia.

Negative: The property is a bit dated and although everything was clean etcetera it is lacking some of the more modern Business Features. The lamps are old-style with outlets, but no USB. Older lamp is the plug-in for your laptop. The carpet is worn "smooth" (but clean)... the sofa was the tweed kinda-saggy model. I had a room on the second floor, and the door access is probably original needing the door knob to be turned, with some difficulty to open if you are carrying luggage. But NONE of these notes lessens the great value and service found here.

Summary: No doubt seasonal rates will apply - but, this will always be my go-to hotel for a stay in Orillia.
