Summary: The motel seems to be freshly renovated, the room's spacious and clean. Excellent kitchenette for this kind of accomodation, very helpful as the only place to eat in town in the evening opens and closes as it's owner pleases. There's no breakfast, but they provide coffee and some snacks to go, which is nice. Checking in was quick, the lady at the counter quite pleasant. There are train tracks running through the town, so when the train signals you'll hear it along with all the valley as the mountain echo amplifies it. Definitely not the motel's fault, but be prepared :) My only real complaint is the soundproofing between the floors. We stayed for 1 night on our way to BC and then on our way back, and both times had a room on the ground floor. Every time we seemed to hear every step our neighbors upstairs were taking(the lodge has 2 floors). Both times our neighbors were more or less quiet, so no big deal, but still there's definitely a room for improvement there.
