Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The owner met us with keys to the accomodation but also provided a door code for our use. Free parking was availalable along the road and there was a superb bakery and a small supermarket close by for essentials. Very short journey into Dom Benito which is a very large town. Culture on the doorstep - we were able to walk to local churches and the ancient castle and Roman amphitheatre. There is also a beautiful many arched Roman bridge that spans the river and which you drive over to go to Dom Benito. The owner responded to any queries immediately. eg provided a softer pillow and a kettle on request and also replacement shower towels

Negative: Everything was as expected. It is in a very quiet area in a small Spanish town where no-one spoke English, but that was a part of its charm and everyone was very friendly. No cooker in the room (but there was a microwave and air fryer) so not ideal if you wanted to cook full meals everyday. However, we ate out most days and there were bars within walking distance and a great restaurant a short drive.

Summary: A gem in an unspoilt part of Spain. Ideal to use as a base to explore Extra Madura
