Positive: The house is a beautiful renovation by the owner (a contractor). The owner Miguel, was amazing. He dropped by to check in and we had a wonderful talk. The facilities are great (kitchen, BBQ, pool, outside and inside eating area). The house is very comfortable with 3 roomy bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. This place is great for a family or a few couples. You can easily park two cars. You are a quick 15 min drive from Amarante (beautiful) and 40 minutes to Guimaraes (very nice, lots of tourists). You will have to drive to get groceries as there isn't much close you are in a completely in a residential area.
Negative: Finding the place is the biggest challenge. You can get close but the last 200 meters is tricky. There are dogs and roosters that make quite a bit of noise. We heard them in the upper bedroom, but the lower bedrooms did not hear anything. Getting to the wine areas in the Douro is a bit of a hike with a car with some crazy roads.
