The Settle-Carlisle railway runs through the village, and the occasional steam train can be spotted as well. Settle boasts a variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, along with a swimming pool and golf course just 5 miles away. Summary: We spent a great long weekend here, a three-generational family group with young children. The bedroom layout worked perfectly for us, with plentiful bathrooms as well as lots of space. The views of Pen-y-ghent were unanticipated and breathtaking, and Horton is a lovely village with a nice play park and river. Lots of great places (Ribblehead, Malham, Settle) in very easy reach, and I ran around the Three Peaks course from the door which was a highlight. Would recommend, so clean and very tasteful. Well appointed and easy access whenever you arrive. Perfect.
