It is a quaint little bay, with neighbouring Cattersty Sands which is a glorious huge sandy beach just a short walk away. This is a perfect choice for those looking for a tranquil coastal holiday away from the crowds. The village is mostly inhabited by locals, with a café/restaurant and post office/local shop. There is lots to see and do for the whole family in the area and this is also a wonderful choice as a romantic getaway for couples. Your dog is welcome to join you, and will be in heaven with the fabulous walks you can enjoy together. The beach here is dog friendly all year round.
For those who love the coast, there are some wonderful beaches nearby to discover, either on foot along the Cleveland Way which is a path running outside the cottage and along the cliff top in either direction or by car. Runswick Bay is gorgeous with sweeping golden sand, perfect for a scenic stroll taking in the fresh sea breeze, and Whitby is just a 30-minute drive away. Visit the museums, ride a boat out of the harbour or simply take in the sights.
