Work-From-Home cabin with modern amenities, design, walkability and charm | Cabin in Pine Mountain Club

3 Bedroom Cabin in Pine Mountain Club
HELLO, FROM THE MAPLEWOOD!
Built in 1972, The Maplewood is lovingly maintained by Los Angeles residents, Jenna and Michael. We use the cabin for creative retreats, to relax, and spend time with family and friends.
Come be surrounded by original works of art and the mountains – just a five minute walk to nature trails and the town center. The Maplewood is a great place to unwind and find inspiration.
Our cabin is geared toward longer stays and working remote, and we are happy to host short term guests as well :)
Just 70 miles north of Los Angeles, Pine Mountain Club is a secluded community nestled in the Los Padres National Forest, in the valley between San Emigdio Mountain and Sawmill Mountain.
Known as a creative getaway for Los Angeles locals, the community is quiet and the night sky is full of stars. Pine Mountain Club has a distinct 4 seasons (including snowy winters!) and is a year round community.

OUR CABIN
Our 2-story cabin features uniquely canted lower walls that create an open and airy feel. The kitchen, dining, and living rooms all have large windows that overlook mountains and a tree-filled front yard. Upstairs, you will find a master bedroom (mountain views) and full bathroom. Downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a washer and dryer.
The cabin is equipped with fresh towels, linens, multiple methods of coffee and tea making, and all of the cooking basics. We also have patio furniture (a folding table and chairs) for the deck stored inside. Our cabin concierge can help with anything that comes up. We’ll put you in touch with her after booking.
Pine Mountain Club is a serene, remote and peaceful community. We have spent a lot of time up here and created a private trail guide with ‘secret’ local hikes that you can walk to from the cabin. You will feel like you are miles away, but in fact it's just a 5 minute walk to the local restaurants and market.
In the cooler months, snow chains for your vehicle may be required. Depending on the amount of snow or ice, this can apply to all vehicles, including AWD or 4WD. Please plan accordingly.
--- MUST READ BEFORE BOOKING ---
Our guests should understand that this is a cabin, not a hotel. We have done everything we can to make your stay cozy and content, but there will be an occasional cobweb. We don’t have a dishwasher. And we do have neighbors. The power and wifi can go out (although we have a backup phone and battery just in case).
We try to go above and beyond for our guests. But this is real mountain life, and all guests should arrive with this expectation.
Please acknowledge that you have read this and have realistic expectations for our home when you request to book. We reserve the right to decline guests who do not thoroughly read and respond to our listing before their request.
--- CELL SERVICE AND INTERNET ---
Cell service is not the best in PMC – that’s why our house comes with a Verizon cell phone that gets reliable service. You can also set up your phone for wi-fi calling at the cabin. We have the fastest available wifi on the mountain. We find it 95% reliable, and we use the backup phone for a hotspot if there is ever a problem. We both work remotely, so we’re set up to handle video calls and a typical workflow.
--- CABIN RULES ---
Must climb stairs - 5 stairs to get into the cabin and 11 stairs to the master bedroom. There is slightly uneven ground to get to the back and front door stairs.
Security Deposit - if you damage the cabin, your security deposit may be withheld and additional charges may be added.
- No smoking, parties, or events.
- No music or loud talking outside past 10PM.
- No open fires outdoors allowed anywhere on Pine Mountain due to wildfires.
- No food can be left outside, in cars, or in the open. No one wants bears, right?
- Speaking of bears, we cannot have trash left in the cabin after your departure. Guests will be asked to take their trash to the transfer site upon departure, which is close by.
Do not smoke on the property. Smoking indoors or near open doors and windows will result in a partial or full forfeit of your security deposit. This is also a FIRE HAZARD and cannot be tolerated.
*Self check-in with keypad.*
--- NO PETS ---
We love pets a whole lot, but they are not allowed in the cabin. It's easy to determine when guests have pets on premise because 99% of the time, pets have resulted in property damage. For this reason, we no longer allow pets on the property and part or all of the security deposit may be withheld if violated.
If you have severe pet allergies, please know that we occasionally come to the cabin with our cat. Please see the Pet on Property description under "Other Details" for our cleaning protocol when she's there.
---CLUBHOUSE ACCESS---
Guest passes to the Clubhouse will be provided. The Clubhouse in Pine Mountain Club has activities such as golf a the pool that's open in the summertime. The clubhouse charges a $5 fee for a "day pass" with the guest card. More info is provided about the Clubhouse amenities once guests have booked.
---OTHER DETAILS---
We have security cameras on the outside of the property that point toward the front and back yards. The main purpose of this is to keep an eye out for curious bears looking for food. However, if there is a security or guest issue, we reserve the right to use these cameras to assess any hazards or rule breaking.
We have neighbors, and they sometimes make noise from yard work or music.
There are only a few restaurants here. They often operate at limited hours, which aren't always predictable. Therefore, we recommend guests bring their own food and plan on cooking during their stay. We do have a few good restaurants to tell you about, especially on the weekends.
If you have severe pet allergies, please know that we occasionally come to the cabin with our cat. We follow a strict cleaning protocol when she's there (separate sheets, vacuuming each day, dander spray), and have yet to have any issues from guests. (If you have a pet allergy, please keep in mind that some people sneak pets in regardless of our rules. This is true for our cabin and others in the area.) Feel free to message us with any questions or requests on this!
We have parking for up to four cars.
