This newly-renovated (August 2021) retreat has 125’ of waterfront on the 110 acre East Bay looking directly at Lake Ontario. East Bay is 45 minutes east of Rochester, 10 minutes from Sodus Bay, and a pleasant 15-minute drive to Wolcott.
With a 75’ walk to the private dock, kayakers and paddle board enthusiasts can literally be on the water in three minutes. Boaters and jet skiers can take advantage of two nearby boat ramps to quickly and easily enjoy the bay. All of you water lovers also have easy access to Lake Ontario which is a 10-minute kayak trip due North through the barrier channel which is open in all the warm months.
The property includes more than five wooded acres with walking trails and splendid peace and quiet. The renowned Lake Bluff State Park is quick 10-minute drive with access to several miles of trails, the gorgeous bluffs, walking along the lake shore, and excellent viewpoints for the superb sunsets.
Anglers can take advantage of the East Bay large mouth bass population (catch-and-release) and the excellent fishing that Lake Ontario has to offer (chinook salmon, coho salmon, rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye and carp). In the winter months, East Bay is a popular ice fishing destination.
For wildlife, the Bay offers bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, turkeys, pheasants, swans, beavers, minks, muskrat, turtles, and the occasional loon. Sandhill cranes are also spotted each year in the immediate area.
The house offers four generously sized bedrooms (sleeps eight), one-and-a-half bathrooms, a full kitchen, comfortable seating with superb views of the bay and Lake. The house was completely refurbished top-to-bottom with new appliances and bedding. Linens are furnished – all you need to bring is drinking water, towels, and a love of the outdoors.
