The Barn originally part of Shiloh Farm dates back to the 17th century and has been recently converted from stables keeping the old charm and character of the building. As well as two beautiful double bedrooms, an open plan kitchen diner, there is a comfortable lounge with a large sofa. There is a small terrace outside the barn which is the perfect place to have a drink in the evening sun. We also have a 100m2 garden which is securely fenced, with a patio set to enjoy the summer sun.

Situated amongst the Saddleworth Hills, people staying at this property will have the ability to enjoy the large areas of open countryside with many local footpaths to explore, with stunning views across Saddleworth to the right and views over Manchester to the left. Parking available next to the property.

During your stay you can enjoy the entire house, the terrace outside and a huge 100m2 lawn garden with views of farmland and the surrounding hills perfect for relaxing on a summers day.

Summary: Lovely converted stables in Oldham, about 45 minutes from Manchester. Both bedrooms are identical, the bathroom is quite spacious, and the downstairs has the den/kitchen. Don, our host was very communicative and helpful. I didn’t receive the check in instructions from VRBO for some reason, so he quickly texted them to us, resolving the issue of our not being able to get in or access the Wi-Fi. We enjoyed several long walks to neighboring villages. We didn’t rent a car, but if you aren’t big hikers like we are, you may want to rent one as it can take a while to get an Uber or you may have to give the driver detailed instructions over the phone since GPS can be a bit dodgy. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the property!
