Tucked just south of Bancroft in the quiet community of Faraday, Timber Ridge Escapes welcomes you the moment you arrive in the driveway. The first thing you’ll notice is the inviting fire pit, perfectly placed for evenings under the stars, and the picnic tables set for lakeside meals overlooking West Mullet Lake. It’s the kind of arrival that immediately slows your pace—where mornings begin with coffee in the fresh air and evenings end with stories by the fire.
Step inside and the cottage unfolds with an easy, welcoming flow. The front foyer offers space to tuck away your gear, with life jackets and essentials ready for your stay. Down the hall, a full bathroom, followed by a well-equipped kitchen—complete with a dishwasher—making settling in effortless. The dining room, with seating for eight, invites long meals and lively conversation, while the living room wraps you in comfort with cozy seating, a wood-burning stove, and a TV ready for your streaming accounts. With Starlink high-speed internet, you can stay connected—but you may find yourself happily choosing not to.
Upstairs, two thoughtfully designed bedrooms offer a peaceful retreat. Both feature queen beds, while the main bathroom includes a tub-shower and double vanity for added convenience. The primary bedroom also houses ensuite laundry—perfect for those little vacation mishaps. There are a large number of stairs or some stairs without a railing which could pose a challenge, Would be difficult to enter the water without assistance from someone, Property would be difficult/impossible to navigate and would not recommend for anyone with mobility challenges.
Waterfront Note that there are stairs down to the water. The water is clear and suitable for swimming, with 127’ of waterfront. It’s possible to wade in from the shoreline but large rocks dot the lake bottom, so the best water entry is off the dock. Water deepens to about 5’ deep off the dock. The water is very clear - you can see right to the bottom from the dock, with few to no weeds, and it's great for swimming.

Downtown Bancroft. The cottage is just 10 minutes from Main Street in Bancroft, with access to groceries, LCBO, restaurants, shops, Bancroft Brewing Company, Starbucks, Kawartha Dairy, and that Grail Springs Retreat Centre for Wellbeing is approximately 5 minutes away for spa visits.
The Village Playhouse - Bancroft. Excellent small venue offering live theatre and shows in downtown Bancroft. (10 mins)
Eagles Nest Lookout. Climb atop the Eagle's Nest Bancroft for a breath-taking view of the York River Valley. Located above down town Bancroft, off Hastings Street North, it's not something you'll want to miss. (20 mins)
The Bancroft Mineral Museum. Located within a riverside park in Bancroft (10 minutes), this museum, housed in the fully-restored heritage train station is owned and operated by the Bancroft Gem and Mineral Club. The park also offers a playground and skatepark, and there's a nice trail along the river, leading to Millennium Park and beyond. (15 mins)
Egan Chutes Provincial Nature Reserve. A bend of the York River has become a wetland with an adjacent sand flat, where poplar, white birch, ash, buffaloberry, and purple flowering raspberry grow. Minerals found here include nepheline, sodalite, biotite, zircon, and blue corundum. (25 mins)

A post-rental cleaning service is included in the rental rate, but the departure checklist must be completed.
