The Hollows is a 19th-century cottage that has recently been renovated to a high standard ensuring a very comfortable stay. Interior decor is modern and cosy, and there is a lovely fireplace, a delightful garden and bubbling hot tub to relax in. A stay here is very much about unwinding and enjoying peace, quiet and nature. The rural setting offers stunning views, including the historic home to Clan Armstrong which can be spotted from the living room window. With the River Esk just a few minutes' walk away, lots of country walks from the door and the local pub a pleasant stroll away, you will soon fall under the spell of the Scottish countryside.
The space
At the heart of the cottage is a spacious living room with extra height created by the sloped ceiling. Within the space there is sofa and armchair seating, and a Smart TV, while the stove is ready to warm up those chilly Scottish evenings.
When it comes to cooking meals, the bright, modern kitchen has everything you will need. There is plenty of storage space and an electric oven and induction hob, a toaster, kettle, coffee machine and dishwasher. In addition, the utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.
There are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one with a double bed, that are accessible directly from the living room. They both have a wall-mounted Smart TV. The front bedroom boasts a view of the historic home of Clan Armstrong. The bedrooms are served by a family bathroom with a bath with a shower over and a WC.
In addition, there is a quirky mezzanine level accessed by a loft ladder. It is an excellent space for catching up on work if you need to or practicing your morning yoga.
