In a stunningly beautiful area just above the Fryingpan River and 5 miles from Basalt, this property is nestled in the Seven Castles with red rock buttresses on the north and aspen and oak hillsides on the south. The home is beautiful on the inside too…it’s spacious, modern, and perfect for entertaining! It has a well-equipped open kitchen with a comfortable bar, a spacious living room, and is fully furnished with 2 bedrooms and an open room with a queen futon. One of its nicest features is the lovely patio off the dining room which has an outside dining table, comfy seating, a hot tub, and great views. For your well-behaved pets, there is also a large fully-fenced yard. And, the home is decorated with original art by the owner and her art collection.
Five miles up the gorgeous Fryingpan Road from Basalt, the home is only 24 miles from Aspen and 22 miles from Snowmass Village which together feature 4 of the best ski areas in the world as well as many great restaurants and fun activities. Glenwood Springs with its famous hot pools and spa is only 33 miles away!
There is hiking right out the back door below the beautiful Seven Castles, snowshoeing in the winter, world-class fishing on the famous Fryingpan River, and of course, world-class skiing 30 minutes away. Wildlife abounds with deer, bighorn sheep, and even the occasional bear and frequent sightings of red fox and eagles.

Summary: We truly enjoyed our stay at Seven Castles. The area itself is magnificent; and the outdoor area of the house was private, cool in the shade, and offered a great place for outdoor dining and lounging. The house itself has a very interesting layout; and we so enjoyed the owner's paintings and sculptures. A little TLC in cleaning and decluttering would have rated well for us. As I often say in VRBO ratings, I would appreciate one great nonstick skillet with good plastic utensils; and a couple of sharp knives with a new plastic cutting board. Often there is emphasis on quantity... though the All Clad pans were terrific! Thanks for a great stay--we really enjoyed it.
