Summary: We had problems from the start. Even though the unit is cute, it does look some different from the online posting. The bed wasn’t comfortable. There was a weird smell, almost like a lot of cleaning products try to cover up smoke or something. Our door had issues locking at times. Our biggest issue was the AC. We kept it on 70 but on our second day there, someone came in and removed the batteries from the thermostat. We could t figure out what was going on so I looked up the manual for the thermostat online and figured out there were no batteries. Then we noticed two batteries laying in the counter. Neither one of us even knew how to remove the batteries so someone must have done it. We notified SVR of it but didn’t get any answers about it. Then on our last day, we had it set for 72 and it kept getting hotter and hotter. It was 79 at one point and we were miserable. It kicked on once later in the night but that was it. It was 76 when we left this morning. Also no one told us about the construction literally outside our window until they started beating and banging at 8am. A warning would have been nice. An email stating, hey just so you know we are currently undergoing construction on these units etc. we were just frustrated the whole time. We will not stay there again. The building itself it old, it’s hard to find the pull in, the stairs are so narrow that I felt unsafe trying to get my suitcase up to the second floor. The outside lights didn’t work. Best thing about it is the location. You can walk anywhere and the beach is just across the road or you can wade in Sabine Bay. It was clean which I’m grateful for, but otherwise it was a poor decision on our part.
