Positive: We absolutely loved the hotel location. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a long time — so much variety! The rooms are incredibly spacious, and the restaurants are all great, especially the Japanese one. I also loved that they had staff with Working Holiday visas at the pool — some of them spoke Spanish and brought such amazing energy that sometimes locals don’t have (no matter where you go in the world). Super helpful and friendly! Special price for parking! 1500 yens for 7 days. You have a Family Mart just across the street.
Negative: The hotel feels quite old — there’s visible humidity on the walls and ceilings, even on our room door. The outdoor pool has a very small sun deck, and the waterfall at the back was covered in green moss, which looked pretty disgusting. I didn’t like that almost no one spoke English. I understand it’s part of Japanese culture, but here they barely understand you at all. We tried booking a marine excursion, and the staff at the marine counter couldn’t string two words together in English. We ended up booking a different tour because they couldn’t help us at all. There really should be at least one bilingual staff member available, especially since there were so many tourists in the same situation. Something that really bothered me was that, even though we were three guests, there were never three towels in the room — always two. I had to call every single night (for seven nights!) to request an extra one. The hotel beach isn’t very nice, though there are prettier ones nearby. Also, the inflatable water games you see on Booking are not included — they’re paid and for a limited time. Actually, almost everything is paid separately: the ping pong table, games, everything. I really thought those were included.
