Our charming couples cottage forms part of a grade 2 listed cornmill, resting in the tranquil hamlet of Wensley Station just outside the quaint market town of Leyburn. Newly renovated, the contemporary country style loft cottage is warm and welcoming. Rest and relax in front of the log burner on a cold winter's evening or unwind with a glass of local gin in the enclosed garden with idyllic views over Wensleydale towards Penn Hill.
The sitting room has a light and airy feel with the open apex ceiling and exposed beams, yet is cosy and warm. Relax on the sofa and watch TV, read in peace or listen to your own music on the wireless speaker. Whatever way you choose to unwind, leave your shoes or walking boots at the door and put your feet up.
The newly fitted kitchen has everything you need to make you feel quite at home and every convenience you could wish for during your stay.
A delightful king-sized bed adorned with crisp white bed linen provides the perfect place to rest your head, after a day of exploring. The full bedroom suite provides ample storage and the south facing window offers one of the best views from the cottage.
A clean, white, cosy bathroom gives you a place to soak the day away or freshen up in the shower.
Additionally, the cottage has a small utility with a washer/dryer and a dog bed for your four legged best friend. Also, as you enter the cottage the porch area provides generous storage for outdoor clothing and footwear and outside there is a lockable store room that can be used for 2 standard sized bicycles.
The cottage and garden is fully self contained and all yours. Parking for one vehicle is private and next to the road.
Our Family lives next door to the cottage and can usually be found somewhere on the grounds, if we are not answering the front door. But are always happy to help if you should need us.
Take the 1 hour scenic stroll along Leyburn shawl to the town for Breakfast, coffee and cake, a refreshing pint or just to browse the local shops. Why not walk the dog on many of our local picturesque footpaths and enjoy a wealth of beautiful scenery, from woodlands, rolling green hills and the nearby Castle Bolton.
If its eating out you require then visit and enjoy the atmosphere of one of our local pubs like the Three Horse Shoes, or sample the exquisite food that can be found at the Wensleydale Heifer or The Saddle Rooms restaurants, both priding themselves in serving locally sourced food.
Your own two feet and a good pair of walking boots can take you for miles, but if you plan on visiting more of our stunning county, then we recommend your own transport. A local bus company runs a limited service a few times a day to and from nearby villages.
RELAX in our New Wood Fired Hot Tub.. Guests can relax and take in the views during the day or star gaze at night. Simply light the fire on your arrival or first thing in the morning as it can take a few hours to warm up.
We welcome any guests bringing their dog, but we do limit this to one four-legged friend and a charge of £20 per dog is payable on arrival. We prefer you not to leave your dog unattended in the cottage, however is you must please ensure they are in a dog crate.
