Peaceful~Riverfront~Cottage | Cottage in Gladwin

This cozy cottage is located just feet from the peaceful Cedar River. Bring the kids, enjoy a relaxing couples getaway, or maybe a trip with friends. Enjoy fishing, hunting, kayaking, yard games, bon fires, ORV trails or any of the festive events in town. Trout fishing is at its finest with no public access for miles!
This cottage is tucked away down a quiet dirt road just outside of town, but still just 5 minutes to town, where you will find restaurants, bars, shopping, ice cream and more!
*Pets* While we would prefer to keep the cottage pet free, we do understand that guests may need to bring their house trained pet on vacation with them. ***There will be a pet fee charged in the amount of $25 per pet, per night. All pets must be disclosed to the owner upon booking.
You will enter the cottage through the mud/ laundry room, complete with oversized washer and dryer and stocked with detergent, stain spray and dryer sheets.
The updated eat-in kitchen seats 5-6 and will be fully stocked with all basic cooking/serving essentials. We will also supply coffee, tea, basic cooking spices, as well as basic condiments.
In the main living space, you will experience a peaceful and comfortable space to enjoy a good book, watch TV or play a game with a river view. You will find two oversized sofas with deep seating, a pellet stove for those cold days/nights, a 70” smart TV that you can use to login to your favorite streaming channels, board games, cards and chat packs to keep the conversations exciting!
The bathroom is mostly updated with plenty of storage for personal items during your stay. The cupboards will contain bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, hair dryer, toilet paper and a first aid kit. We supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, and a few other “in case you forget” items.
Bedroom 1 will have a queen size bed with windows looking out over the river. You will also find a small work space complete with an Ethernet cable to connect to the modem if you need to get some work done while vacationing. The large closet provides plenty of space to store your personal belongings. You will also find extra pillows, blankets and sheets.
Bedroom 2 houses a full over full size bunk bed for your extra guests. **Please note that I would not consider the top bunk to be suitable for adults. The weight limit is 300lbs but the ladder would be difficult for an adult to climb. Teens would be comfortable.** You will find an extra twin size rollaway bed tucked in the closet if needed. Please note that this is a small room, but still has space for personal storage in the closet and some floor space for the little ones to play.
Guests will have access to the entire cottage. The basement Rec. Room will be up and running as of November 1st, 2022. You will find additional seating, table and chairs, pool, ping pong and air hockey.
The riverside shed will house kayaks, outdoor games, extra chairs, etc. At this time, the main garage will not be accessible to guests.

-Bring your fishing gear! The Cedar River is known for being peaceful, shallow, copper colored water with slow current and is great for Trout!
-Bug spray, sunscreen, beach towels, charcoal grill, flashlights are all available.
River Notes: The water is accessible from the property but is not handicap accessible. The ground level is roughly 3ft higher than the water, although there is an access point with steps leading down to a water level area. We suggest using this area for entering and exiting the river. Water shoes may be desired. Most of the river is sandy but there are some mucky areas as well. The water level does not get much deeper that 3ft and the current is slow moving. By kayak, you can float downstream for about 30 minutes and you will be able to access Wiggins Lake. The paddle back to the cottage will also take about 30 minutes. You will need to paddle continuously but it is not strenuous.
The cottage sits on a double lot with plenty of grassy space to utilize as well. You will find a firepit with seating. Feel free to let the kids pop a tent, play games or just run around in this space. Camper parking may be available in this space as well, but will require prior approval and an additional fee.
