4 Bedroom House in Shrewsbury
About this space
A handsome Georgian townhouse, designed by Thomas Telford and situated in the heart of the historic town of Shrewsbury with its medieval back streets and timber-framed buildings. We are only a short walk from all that Shrewsbury has to offer.
A well-appointed and exquisite period property, which is laid out over 5 floors offering spacious accommodation and retaining a wealth of original features including Georgian casements, original fireplaces and ornate cornicing.
The space
On entering the property you will experience its grandness from the high ceilings and elegant staircase.
The hallway leads off to the spacious dining room, with a large dining room table to entertain all. On this level is a cloakroom and rear back door, that leads out to the courtyard with seating to enjoy those alfresco evenings or morning coffee.
Descending down to the lower ground floor, we have a large well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room. Attractively appointed and fitted with a range of bespoke units, granite working surfaces and upstand incorporating a range of high quality integrated appliances, including Neff coffee machine and microwave, double fridge and range oven.
We also have a utility room and door leading out to two outdoors undercroft storage areas for bikes or other outdoor equipment.
The staircase leads up to the first floor and to the main living area. The light and space in this room gives it a real feeling of elegance but with the character of Georgian style. Along with the Smart TV, we have a BOSE surround sound system that works through the TV and your phone.
On this floor, we also have a double bedroom with king-size bed and a bathroom with bathtub.
The staircase continues up to the second floor, where you will find a large, elegant master bedroom with triple sash windows and ample storage space.
Also on this floor is a large, spacious bathroom, with stand-alone bath where you can relax while watching the world go by with views over the rooftops of Shrewsbury. There is also a walk-in shower with rain showerhead.
On the third floor, there is a further double bedroom with king-size bed. A twin room with single beds, although watch your head on this one and a shower room.
We do have one dedicated parking space within a 3-minute walk of the property. Although once you have parked your car, you shall not need it again because everything is within a stone's throw of the property.

Local Restaurants
There are so many but here are some we like. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town, this is a short drive out of the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. The Olive Tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury are always firm favourites, along with Cote. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and have a Nando's and a Harvester near the cinema.
Local Attractions
The house is located right in the centre of the historic town of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury has a whooping 800 listed building from the 16th and 17th centuries. Unfortunately in the 1960s, some historic buildings were demolished to make way for a very different architectural style and I am sure you will spot these buildings. Just remember when you are walking around to look up. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing. If you go straight across the road from the front door you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features that is worth a wander around. We also hold many festivals in the Quarry, check to see what is on. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. The Shropshire hills which are an Area of Natural beauty are only a short drive away, easy there is access to Mid Wales. Ironbridge Gorge and Museums Best to get out there and explore.
