This stylish Mooncatcher's Cottage is luxurious, beautiful and has a king size Master bedroom with private bath. There are three other bedrooms and 2 baths to accommodate families and friends. The cottage is designed with attention to detail and curated for our guests comfort.
Be amazed at the Design details in the house. Recline on a leather sectional beside a wood-burning stove in the living room.The rugs are art under your feet. The window details are high end, classic, with water views from almost every room. The style of the house is called Carolina Coastal and features wrap around tile porches including a dining porch , pergolas and outdoor seating.

There is a wonderful area on the ground level that features teak dining and a teak bar that is great for entertaining. Fire up the BBQ grill on the deck and dine outside while looking out on the Amazing water views. At the end of the day, we invite you to sit by the fire pit, spread out and relax with family and friends. Have a glass of wine or cook smores and roast marshmallows by the fire pit overlooking the ever-changing views.
The best way to experience the water is to bring your own boat or rent a boat from Bow to Stern in Oriental. They also rent kayaks or paddle boards.
Our protected dock on Gideon Creek offers 5' deep water depth and easy access to tie up your boat. The public boat ramp is located in the village of Oriental. Quick access to the Neuse River provides some of the best sailing and fishing on the east coast. Sailing has long been a favorite past time here and the area is know as the Sailing Capital of North Carolina. The constant breezes are a sailor's delight and is home to international boaters from all over the world. Just so you know the water is brackish which means a combination of salt water and fresh. We have crab pots and shrimp nets and a fishing pole at the house.
We are located 1 mile from River Dunes and the Harbour at River Dunes. River Dunes is a high end community and I would recommend Yawl's restaurant at River Dunes as the best place for breakfast! Ride your bikes around River dunes and take in the beautiful architecture of the homes. It is a wonderful wedding venue that is very close to our house.
The peaceful, beautiful views are why we love this house. Wake up in the morning to beautiful water birds, humming birds and wide water views from almost every room including the Master bedroom, guest bedrooms and the living room. Unique swinging couches are a treat to experience on the screened in porch. Relax and enjoy the breezes and water views from 3 sides overlooking the natural creek with bird watching and the occasional visits from dolphins that call this area home. We have some friendly barn owl's that come to visit just at dark. Enjoy sitting on the private balcony off the Master Bedroom suite and take in views of the Moon early in morning. Every bedroom has it's own unique balcony with teak furniture where you can have coffee in the morning and enjoy the views.
The closest beach is a beautiful but little tiny one in town and the closest large beach can be accessed via the ferry system to Beaufort or Atlantic Beach. The ferries can take you across the Neuse River and are very fun. You can also do a day trip to Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks or the light house at Hatteras. You can watch the wild ponies in Shackleford.
