Summary: We booked this home for our family trip to the Klamath Falls area and the listing mentioned the use of all the amenities of Running Y Resort (including the pool). However, we found out, after wasting several hours visiting with the HOA office, the resort management and going back & forth with Vacasa, that the owners had not paid the annual HOA use fee for those amenities so there were no visitor passes available. Further, after working with Vacasa (who were actually very helpful), the owners reportedly said they "did not want to deal with the HOA, so there are no amenity passes". As a result, it was extremely disappointing that our kids were not able to actually utilize the amenities of the resort. Thankfully, Vacasa did refund us some money as a result of both the inconvenience of us having to drive and visit the various management offices and the false information provided in the listing... Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue (we took pictures of everything)... Here is the brief list of some of things that made our stay less than desirable. - The trash can was full upon arrival and had food waste that was decomposing beneath the only bag. We threw the previous occupants trash out but then had to wash out the garbage bin due to the rotting food within it. - in their dog run, the weeds were 4 feet tall, so thick that our dog couldn't even use it. So, my wife and I pulled their weeds for them so it was a usable space. Additionally, there was a lot of dog poop in the dog run that wasn't picked up, so we also did that. - The house needed to be cleaned and sprayed for spiders. We killed 26 spiders in total (generally about 4 per day) in bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, kitchen during our stay. The house needs to be sprayed. It was crazy to have to kill that many spiders inside on a daily basis. - Refrigerator water filter needed replacement. - The deck/patio sliding door does not lock properly, so even when in the lock position, you can simply open the door still. Effectively making the house unlocked at all times. We had to rig a broom in the door track to ensure the door was closed when we were gone. - The patio furniture was all dirty, full of bird poop and dirt. We had to clean all of that off to use it. - 3 propane tanks were provided. However, 2 were empty and the 3rd was 7/8 empty. So, you could use the grill or the fire pit. not both at once. - there were no light bulbs in any of the outdoor deck light fixtures and the motion floodlights didn't work. - There was a broken night stand light fixture in the master bedroom that was a fire hazard. We unplugged it and put it aside so it wasn't used. - The house A/C does not work well upstairs. It was pleasant downstairs, but the 3 bedrooms upstairs it was way too hot. Too hot, that our kids couldn't sleep up there, and to utilize the living room couch for them. - the amount of dust and cobwebs was crazy! Nice property but wouldn't stay here again.
