Summary: The hosts are nice and the actual building and apartment are nice, clean, spacious and renovated. The neighborhood is a mixed bag; some renovated homes among some very run down and unclean spaces. The corner store has bars on it and we saw what appeared to be a drug deal happen in the corner while we were trying to figure out parking. The side street and around the back where we had to park were very sketchy. The parking was a big issue when we got there. The description of the property said that parking was included however it was not marked well and once we found it there were cars of other renters for the same building parked there. Owner was responsive in trying to get it taken care of however said it was a courtesy not included in the unit and we could park in the street for free. There was no available parking g in the street nor did we feel safe parking our car in the street or in an undesignated parking space especially since we rented this unit with parking in mind. Several hours after our arrival we were able to get the parking resolved with the help of the owner. We had some trouble with the electric lock to the building not locking. Also, learned by happenstance after our ability to cancel without penalty that the unit is no longer available for rental on VRBO something VRBO should have notified us about.
