The Property
When you book Greystone House, you have the entire apartment to yourselves. Come and experience a century home that has been completely renovated from top to bottom - the best of both worlds! The apartment is incredibly bright and carefully designed to maximize living space.
Greystone House is available for 4-6 guests to stay, in two large bedrooms each with their own brand new en suite washroom plus a double sofabed in the lounge if required. Throughout, we have focused on comfort, luxury and style, with a 'ScandiFresh' style. We like to ensure our guests are well looked after and throughout you will find thoughtful touches such as clever storage, extra USB cables, complimentary snacks on arrival, drinks and bath fizzers..
Greystone House is in a great location: be on the 403 Highway in as little as 90 seconds! 5 mins walk to local shops. 15 min walk to the trendy Locke St/James St stores.
It’s a perfect place for one or more couples, two friends studying in Hamilton or a family. visiting the area. There are several kids playparks within 10 mins walk. The famous Bruce Trail passes the end of the street. Be our guest at Greystone House for a lux VRBO experience.
The house has unlimited hi-speed wifi and free streaming inc. Netflix. There is also a washer and drier in the house for your convenience. You are welcome to enjoy our hotel quality, spa like complimentary toiletries on arrival. There is some complimentary home gym equipment available for use.
There are two private parking spaces in the driveway and road parking outside if needed. Bicycles can be secured within the private fully fenced backyard. From early Spring onwards, we provide outdoor patio furniture for 6 people in the fully fenced backyard.
Neighborhood overview
Location is one of this house’s main strengths. It’s well situated in the Strathcona neighborhood of Hamilton and nestled within the famous Niagara Escarpment. Just a few mins away is the National Historic site of Dundurn Castle. Greystone House is about a minute away from two junctions of the 403 highway so take your pick and start your journey towards Toronto or Brantford or be at Niagara Falls in 50 mins.
There's a convenience store 1 min walk away. Within a few minutes walk of the house is Dundurn Plaza - containing a large grocery store/supermarket, pharmacy, wine shop, several fast food stores (inc Tim Hortons, Subway, McDonalds, chinese food) and much more.
Walk 15 mins or drive 5 mins to reach the famous stores of Locke St. One of Hamilton's best known and most interesting areas filled with many coffee shops, restaurants, a gym, a park and independent several retail stores (inc. chocolate shop, Donut store, cupcake bakery, health food store, interior design stores). Highly recommend getting in the line for a 'Donut Monster' donut. Grab a table at 'Earth to Table' for lunch or dinner. This place was featured on the well known "You Gotta Eat Here' TV show on the Food Network and serves amazing rosemary, salt and parm skinny fries amongst other items.. Also highly recommend the 'Brux House' restaurant on Locke St. Craft beer and Belgian inspired posh nosh. Notably, it's the sister restaurant to nearby Dundas' own fine dining restaurant 'Quatrefoil' - reservation definitley required for Quatrefoil.
Walk 15 mins or drive 5 mins in the other direction to reach the famous stores of James St. Home of the famous monthly Art Crawl and annual Super Crawl art events. Didn't get a table at Eart to Table on Locke St? Good news, there's a second branch on James St. Also don't miss 'Chocolat on James' for mouth watering treats and their famous dipped cones and sundaes. Little kids and grown up kids will thank you forever for taking them there!
Hamilton has a famous farmers market in the city centre, serving up all kinds of produce and treats from near and far. Jackson Square is the central shopping mall and has several floors of well known as well as independant stores. Check out 'Nations' in the mall for the areas biggest international food store. Global foods are available under one gigantic roof. Highly recommend the freshly cooked Chinese noodles, roast pork and Pho.
Cycle (12 mins)/walk (30 mins) to McMaster University.
Cycle (15 mins)/walk (35 mins) to Hamilton General Hospital.
Cyclist? Secure your bike in the fully fenced, private backyard. Rentable 'SoBi' bikes are a couple of minutes walk away - bring your own helmet and search online for the easy sign up instructions.
