Ogle Meadows Cabin | Large cabin nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains only 45 minutes from Asheville

4 Bedroom Cabin in Ogle Meadows, Burnsville

In the woods adjacent to the Pisgah National Forest next to a rushing creek sits Dear Creek Lodge, your peaceful family getaway to the highest peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Spread out over three levels, Deer Creek Lodge offers space for between 8 and 10 overnight guests in 4 large bedrooms with 4.5 baths.
A living room with large windows overlooking the forest welcomes you on the main level entrance where you can relax in ample seating by the wood burning fireplace and enjoy the outdoor views or watch TV on a 65-inch Samsung SmartTV with surround sound speakers. The large kitchen is fully equipped with all the kitchen equipment you need to prepare your family meals to share in the adjoining dining room and kitchen counter, or to enjoy on the large terrace with seating for 4 on the second level or picnic table seating in the patio underneath the terrace. A propane grill on the terrace compliments the kitchen, and a half-bathroom on this level means you do not have to walk far when nature calls. Hue light controls allow you to set the mood in the Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room and outdoor terraces.
The main level bedroom is huge, with a king size bed, ample drawer storage, a seating area with a large chair with ottoman and reading lamp. A 55-inch Samsung SmartTV compliments this bedroom in case you like to watch TV in bed, but opening the bedroom window and turning off the TV will allow you to sleep to the sound of the creek rushing in the background and be awakened by the sounds of mountain songbirds. A large bathroom with separate toilet stall, two sinks, an open walk-in shower and jet whirlpool tub makes this bedroom a private oasis within the cabin.
Separate adult couples will not fight over bedrooms because the third level master bedroom is also huge, with a king size bed, wall-to-wall closet, 50-inch Samsung SmartTV and its own private bathroom with tub and shower. This level also hosts the third bedroom, with a queen size bed, 44-inch Samsun SmartTV, large closet and storage, as well as the foyer with a small library and seating for you to enjoy a book while overlooking the main level and the large windows to the forest. A large bathroom with separate toilet stall, two sinks and a bathtub with shower round out the amenities of the fully equipped third level.
Take the stairs down to the first level to find a large leather sectional with built-in recliners to enjoy watching movies on the 85” Samsung SmartTV with surround sound speakers, or lay down in the adjacent leather sofa that converts into a full-size sleeper bed. The fourth bedroom with a queen size bed is located on this level with ample closet space and a 44-inch Samsung SmartTV and there is a fourth bathroom with tub and shower on this level.
The back side of the first level is the playroom, with a pool table that flips into an air hokey table, a separate fuse ball table, and card or game table to enjoy a game night with the kids or a card game over drinks with the adults. A Classic Video Arcade with thousands of arcade games from the 80s and 90s will provide hours of indoor entertainment. Hue color LED lights allow you to set the mood in the first level. Large French doors open to the covered patio terrace.
The cabin is at an elevation of 4,100 feet which means cool summer nights and snowy winter days. A propane firepit welcomes you outdoors. There are hiking trails right outside the cabin doors, or you can take a three-minute drive to the boundaries of the Pisgah National Forest and its abundant hiking trails and waterfalls. The quaint mountain town of Burnsville is located 25-minutes away with restaurants and coffee shops surrounding the traditional town square and along Main Street, and a craft brewery and restaurant with outdoor stage for summer concerts. Asheville is 45-minutes away with a buzzing art and music scene and a list of gourmet restaurants that you can enjoy guilt-free after having spent the day shedding calories by hiking around the cabin and the nearby environs. The challenging overnight Black Crest Trail to Mount Mitchell, the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains and the highest peak in mainland eastern North America, is a 20-minute drive from the cabin on Bowlens Creek, or you can drive to numerous easier trails and waterfalls all nearby.
To connect to the world beyond the mountains, the cabin is supplied with reliable fiberoptic high-speed internet, with cable TV boxes on every TV, and fast wireless signal distributed at every level of the house so the kids don’t complain that their games are lagging. If you need to work, the main level master bedroom has a separate workspace with a desk and computer monitor waiting for your laptop’s HDMI cable and ethernet cable connection for your remote video meetings. A laundry room with large front-loading washer and dryer will allow you to get your clothes muddy during your outdoor adventures but go home clean when your vacation is over.
Two large dog beds and food and water bowls at the main level and first level will make your furry friends feel right at home. A pet fee applies for each pet with a maximum of two dogs unless more (if they are small) are approved by the owner by special arrangement.
The cabin is easily accessible with any car but a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended during the winter months (from December to April) and is essential when it snows.
There are three cameras outside the Cabin: one facing the Yard, one facing the Driveway, and one at the Front Door. The cabin is in a remote location and is sometimes unoccupied so the cameras are solely for security. For your privacy, the cameras are specifically positioned to look away from the cabin so that they cannot see any of the outside recreation areas, such as the firepit or back terrace.
