Positive: The location was very pretty and drivable to many cool areas of Portland and Reed College. The kitchen was exceptional for a vacation rental. There was a gas fireplace that worked well. The property was in a very nice home and is a high quality ADU The unit itself is very nice. If you need a one bedroom and have no need to contact the property managers, this could be a great option (it really is a mice unit).
Negative: This is listed as a 2 bed property and was booked because we needed 2 beds. There is a very nice bed and a pull out couch. I have utilized a pull out could in plenty of places with no issue. This pull out couch, however, was not acceptable as a bed. The mattress was unusable - it was far worse than simply lying on the couch cushions. Additionally the "bed" that pulls out is too small for my 5'3 friend who was supposed to be sleeping on it. This should NOT be advertised as a 2 bed property. The second major issue we experienced was that the host contact info we were provided must have been a Vacasa AI Chatbot. On multiple occassions we attempted to contact the property owners (we had luggage delayed at airport that needed to be delivered and we need info/alert the main tenants; we had concerns about an allergen in the apt, etc). The chatbot could not understand our questions and provided weird and inappropriate responses give the questions, and then REFUSED to convey the messages to the property hosts. This is 100% unacceptable. Sound proofing above unit is VERY poor. We could hear the dog? walking around, etc. The tenants were not doing anything wrong - the noise from normal living was coming through the floor/ceiling.
