'Driftaway has just completed an extensive three year renovation following Hurricane Dorian. Renovations have just been completed to this unique and fabulous Sea to Sea property. The house is ready for bookings. The entire home has been redesigned and rebuilt throughout, including extensive wrap around covered porches, new dock facilities, boat lift and beautiful landscaped grounds. Driftaway is a beautiful, tastefully furnished vacation home located at the very end of Eastern Shores, in a prestigious gated community known as Eastern Point, with seven beautiful homes within its confines. Eastern Point is located on the very tip of a mile-long point of land running east from Marsh Harbour, into the beautiful Sea of Abaco.
Driftaway is secluded and surrounded by clear turquoise water with views of numerous islands including Elbow Cay, Man-O-War Cay and the prestigious Montage Cay (montagecay.com) and yet is very handy to the amenities of town (approximately 2 miles). The property runs sea-to-sea with the Sea of Abaco on the north side. White sandy beaches bring you to the waters edge on both sides of the property. Driftaway also has its own protected deep-water 60 foot dock and boat lift on the south side facing Sugar Loaf. Full dockage provides for power and water to your boat.
The house is nestled within a tropical garden of colorful hibiscus, wild orchids, bromeliads, palms trees and winding stone paths.
Driftaway has three spacious master bedrooms (two with king size bed, one with two XL Twin beds with a queen conversion), each with their own en suite master bathroom. all bedrooms have large size closets/ceiling fans and a view of the Sea of Abaco. The bedrooms are separated by the large open airy great room which is equipped with a flat screen TV with Apple TV, Netflix and surround sound Sonos speakers throughout the house
The high vaulted ceilings and the orientation of the house to the cool gentle ocean breeze creates natural flow-through cooling. The entire home is served by a Central Air conditioning system to maintain adequate and comfortable temperatures throughout. Every room is equipped with ceiling fans, including the 44 foot screened-in front porch and the sun porch off of the dining room. Four sets of double French doors open to beautiful views on four sides.
The gourmet Chef kitchen is fully stocked and furnished, along with Viking stove and Sub-Zero frig, dishwasher, ice-maker, coffee grinder, microwave, blender and toaster oven. The dining room area has available seating for eight. Covered porches allow for outdoor seating and dining and is equipped with a six burner gas, stainless Weber outdoor grill.
Sun yourself on the large south facing deck furnished with lounges, patio table/chairs and sectional couches. . There is also adequate covered porches surrounding the house when shade is needed. Two large pass- through windows from the kitchen serve the deck.
Relax on the muskoka chairs on the covered 44' front deck while enjoying the view of the Sea of Abaco.
You have a private sandy waterfront sitting area directly on both the North and South side of the property. You can swim or snorkel by simply walking down six steps into the warm turquoise waters of the Sea of Abaco. You also have the availability of snorkeling at several locations within very short distances by boat or by car. Fowl Cay just south of Man-O-War and Mermaid Reef are two of many reef areas for your enjoyment.
Marsh Harbour has many restaurants to choose from (2-3 miles approximately from Driftaway) that you can get to by rental car or by taxi. You can also rent a boat to visit the local islands for lunch or exploring. Hope Town, Guana and Man of War are a few of the many small islands that can be reached by your own rental boat or by ferry which is conveniently located two minutes away from the house by car or a ten-fifteen minute walk. Enjoy lunch at Nipper’s on Guana and enjoy their beautiful beach and excellent snorkelling. Visit the wonderful people of Elbow Cay and dine at Firefly, Abaco Inn, Captain Jacks and On Da Beach for great fun.
