Positive: Lovely house and garden. Lovely quiet location in giudecca and very close to the water bus stop. Very clean inside the flat. Very charming furniture and decoration. Gives you a sense of the authentic residential houses locally. Host Dino was very welcoming. Easy to leave the luggage after you checkout. An experience I would recommend!
Negative: It was pretty cold in the flat in late October when we visited. I imagine the tiled floor must be pretty cooling during summer but in cold weather it was freezing to step on. It’s probably just because of the sewage system in Venice / giudecca overall but during the two days we stayed which it rained, the bathroom gradually started to smell of damp sewage. By the end of the second day we had to keep the bathroom door closed otherwise the smell would come out to the entire flat. Again, the canal did smell a bit bad those days too so it’s probably not fair to judge but we did stay in a hotel in San Marco couple of nights before and there wasn’t any smell then. You share the kitchen with another guest flat. The sound insulation between rooms wasn’t great in these old houses so if your neighbor use the kitchen and talk - it’s easy to wake up from the bedroom of your flat.
