Turtle Lake is located approximately thirty (30) miles North of Grand Rapids on scenic State Highway #38, and approximately two (2) miles north of Marcell, MN. Big Turtle Lake is within the Bigfork River Watershed and is located in the North East Quarter of the Chippewa National Forest. Big Turtle Lake has an area of 2,052 acres of water, a 26.7 mile shoreline, and is 150 feet deep, with water clarity of 20 feet. Big Turtle Lake is the most popular fishing lake in the Chippewa National Forest. The lake has been stocked with walleye since the year 1992. Fishing species include Walleye, Northern Pike, Small Mouth Bass, Large Mouth Bass, Black Crappie, Blue Gill, Sunfish, Pumpkinseed, Yellow Perch, White Fish, and Tullibee (Cisco). Note: A pontoon boat is available for rent (rates on the pontoon rental are $125 per day and discounts will vary depending on the length of stay).
The 3600 square foot home has a walk out basement only 100 feet from the lake, two large decks with one deck facing a western sunset over the lake, four (4) bedrooms, complete with three (3) bathrooms, two (2) fireplaces, and a large air conditioned three-season porch. The home can sleep 8 to 10 people comfortably (4 bedrooms and other sleep accommodations). The home has a large dining room with a large oak dining table that will seat 10 people. The kitchen is large with deep freezer, dishwasher, and large bar with bar stools. The kitchen and dinning room are perfect for indoor entertaining. The property sits on four (4) acres with 185 feet of pristine sandy beach, perfect for wading, swimming, dropping a line off the dock, campfires, and spectacular western sunsets! AS you enter the property, with easy access from Highway #38, you will witness a spectacular breath taking million dollar view.
The property is located next to snowmobiling trails, hiking trails, restaurants, gas station, and bait shop. The property is located perfectly to accommodate the avid hunter, fisherman, and snowmobiler. This house has an enormous flat area of land that is perfect for outdoor lawn sports. You can rise with the loons in the morning, and head out fishing for that monster walleye. In the afternoons enjoy the beach, swimming, water skiing, and tubing.

NOTE: EASY ACCESS FROM Minneapolis/St. Paul, in a little over 3 hours you're in lake country with easy access to restaurants, gas station, and convenience/bait shop. You will not have to travel miles of dirt roads to access this wilderness paradise. The property is accessed directly from Highway 38, within 30 seconds your on the beach. There is plenty of room to park trailers and toys on the property.
